"To see what is right, and not do it, is want of courage or of principle." Confucius

To assess the "total health" picture of a candidate’s readiness for entry into leadership in the Church of Today, we look for the following attributes:

Maturity reflects flexibility, balance and good judgment, living from one’s value system; acts responsibly and ethically.

Self-understanding has awareness of changes in mood and feelings and accepts them; reflects inner control.

Personal value system (integrity) values direct one’s behavior; evidences ability to articulate reasons for actions.

Intuition sensitive to insight with ability to assess its meaning.

Sensitivity to emotions, capacity to accept the reality of emotions with awareness of one’s own responses, and sensitivity to emotions of others.

Modeling reflects values in outer actions and communications, modeling effective leadership behavior for others.

Prayer consciousness is living from the awareness of God’s guidance continually.

Ambition, balanced and appropriate goals to succeed out of desire for service, not recognition or any sense of entitlement.

Empathy (nurturing), capacity for warmth generated by satisfactory relationships and a positive self-image; a collaborative spirit in working as part of a team, not from stance of authority

Balance of reality with fantasy uses imaginable resources with adequate perception of reality.

Inner control stability based on inner resources to fall back on under tress.
